'We have some corrupt ex presidents too' - BBNaija Pere compares US, Nigeria judicial system after Trump's arrest

Former Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) housemate and ex US military commander, Pere Egbi has taken to social media to draw comparisons between the American and Nigerian judicial systems following former US president, Donald Trump's arrest.

After been indicted on 34 counts of falsifying business documents by a New York judge, the former American president now holds the record of becoming the first former US president to face criminal prosecution.

Recall that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg charged Trump with 34 felonies in an indictment that was unsealed on Tuesday, April 3 for manipulating New York business records using a "catch and kill" tactic to hide negative information and illegal activities before the 2016 election.

However, Trump, who was in front of Judge Juan Merchan, pleaded not guilty to all of the charges.

Speaking on the subject, Pere compared the situation to Nigeria's and expressed amazement that a former US president had been arrested on live television and charged with a crime.

He questioned Nigeria's judicial system, highlighting the fact that the nation also has corrupt former presidents who have not been brought to prison.

Despite the fact that America is not a flawless nation, the former reality star claimed to be amazed by its justice system.

He wrote: "Trump getting arrested!!! On live TV!!! Facing criminal charges! I mean America is not a perfect country but the justice system sometimes make me smile. That’s a former American president o. Nigerian judicial system, how far na? I know we have some corrupt ex-presidents o!"
