Nigerian reggae-dancehall artiste and composer Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie popularly known as Patoranking has stirred emotions by saying that hints from the late Mohbad could have been recognized if fans had paid attention to his lyrics.

The singer was questioned about Nigerian music and how, unlike some musicians, he chooses to give back to mankind via his songs rather than living a flamboyant lifestyle and ignoring his people.

Patoranking responded by highlighting his street connection and advising listeners to focus on the content of the songs.

Using Mohbad as an example, he suggested that listeners would have recognized clues in Mohbad's music if they had focused more on the lyrics.

He said: “If we had paid attention to the lyrics, we would have seen signs from Mohbad.”

Concerned individuals descended upon the comment section to share their views on the singer's statement.
