Veteran comic actor Baba Suwe buried in Lagos

Veteran comic actor, Babatunde Omidina, popularly known as Baba Suwe, has been laid to rest, today, November 25.

On Monday, November 22, 2021, the actor died at his residence in the Ikorodu area of Lagos.

His death shocked many including the Governor of Lagos state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu who said, “Baba Suwe’s death had left a vacuum that would take some time to be filled in the entertainment industry. I pray that God will grant the late Babatunde Omidina eternal rest and grant the family, colleagues, and associates the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.”

Also, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila urged the children and family of Baba Suwe to find comfort same way he used his talent to put smiles on people's faces whiles alive.

Baba Suwe featured in several movies such as Iru Esin, produced by Olaiya Igwe in 1997, Arewa Okunrin, Owo laso oge, Obáj’obalo, Àkóbí gómìnà, Ojabo Kofo, Teni Teni, among others.

In 2011, Baba Suwe was accused by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) of trafficking cocaine which was later ruled as false and defamatory by a Lagos High Court.
