Nkem Owoh and late daughter

Seasoned Nollywood actor Nkem Owoh widely known as Osuofia has spoken out about the death of his 24-year-old daughter, Kosisochukwu Nkem Owoh after a period of silence.

The movie star came under fire in July for allegedly abandoning his family, which resulted in his daughter's death.

In a video posted to social media, a man said the actor had been cruel to his family and had neglected his duties as the head of the home.

The individual who claimed to be linked to the wife of the actor accused him of favoring his job over his family.

He claimed that the actor's deceased daughter Kosisochukwu had repeatedly pleaded with her father to pay for her medical care overseas before she passed away from liver cancer. However, he did nothing until she ultimately prevailed in the battle.

Nkem Owoh thanked everyone for their love and support during this difficult time in a statement on his Instagram page.

Nothing, according to Nkem Owoh, is more comforting during a catastrophe than realizing that one is not alone.

Nkem continued, by saying that his daughter's passing is a change he didn't expect, and as such he feels a deep sense of loss.

However, with the support he has been getting, he will get through the trying period.

He said: “I want to thank you all for the support and love shown to me and my family. When tragedy strikes, there is nothing more heartening than knowing that you’re not alone.

“It was with deep gratitude that I received your note, and calls with condolences. We have seen many changes over the years. But this is a change I did not anticipate and I am feeling an acute sense of loss.

“However, I know that because of your encouragement, I will get through this time. Thank you for helping to push me through my grief.”
