Social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, is set to appear in court to answer to accusations of impersonation, according to the Nigeria Police.
The prosecution is scheduled for Friday, November 1, 2024 and will be supervised by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command.
The Police Force stressed their commitment to upholding the integrity of their emblems and avoiding any misuse in a statement posted on their X account.
In a statement released on its X account, the Police emphasized their dedication to maintaining the integrity of their symbols and preventing any misuse.
“In light of recent events, VDM, whose actual name is Mr. Martins Otse, will appear in court today due to allegations of impersonation linked to the unauthorized use of Nigeria Police Force uniforms in a viral social media video.
“The FCT Police Command is actively handling the case, underscoring the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to upholding the integrity of its symbols and preventing their misuse. Interested persons are encouraged to follow up on the proceedings as the case unfolds,” the statement read.
