Popular Nigerian reality TV star and comedian, Aderombi Adedayo, widely known as DeeOne, has revealed that celebrity fashion designer Veekee James is his former partner.

DeeOne disclosed while reacting to comments made by Veekee James during a recent appearance on the Unfiltered and Extra Spicy with Ify’s Kitchen podcast, where she described the comedian as “unserious” and not someone to be taken seriously.

In response, DeeOne took to Instagram with a video titled “Ruth, you never still move on from this our matter”, describing the situation as a “blast from the past” and stating that he had already moved on.

The comedian explained that he and Veekee James, whose real name he referred to as Ruth, had a romantic relationship shortly after he exited the Big Brother Naija house in 2018.

According to him, there is no bad blood between them, and he insisted that he treated her well during their time together.

DeeOne noted that his major issue was his dislike for being controlled, adding that some of her expectations made him uncomfortable.

He stressed that his comments were not meant to discredit her and revealed that people within the entertainment industry, including her husband, Femi James, are aware of their past relationship.

Despite the controversy, DeeOne said he holds no grudges and wishes Veekee James and her family the best. He apologised if his actions in the past offended her in any way and urged fans not to take celebrity issues too personally.

“It’s all love from my side,” he said, adding that there are many behind-the-scenes realities in the entertainment industry that the public is unaware of, and that his response was simply because she spoke negatively about him first.
