The Uefa Champions League match between Manchester City and Real Madrid has been postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Recall that Manchester City pulled an away comeback courtesy Gabriel Jesus and Kevin De Bruyne after Madrid took the lead through Isco.

Real Madrid's will have to wait till further notice to overturn their 2-1 home defeat at the Bernabeu when the coast is clear to come to the Etihad for the second leg of the UCL round of 16 fixture.

City released an official statement on its website which reads:

"The decision to postpone Tuesday’s game was made in conjunction with UEFA and follows confirmation that players from Real Madrid will self-isolate for fifteen days after it emerged that a player from the club’s basketball team tested positive for COVID-19.

"The Club sends its best wishes to the players and staff at Real Madrid’s football and basketball teams.

"Further information regarding the rescheduled date and related ticketing information will follow in due course."

Top-flight leagues in Spain and Italy have been postponed, while Wednesday's game between Manchester City and Arsenal was postponed as a "precautionary measure".

There are 484 confirmed cases in the UK and eight people have died, while the global cases have risen to 133,065 with about 4,947.
