A Nigerian lecturer is announced his plans to break the Guinness World Records for the longest lecturing time.

The Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) Campus Connect took to Twitter to make this known by sharing a flier with a picture of the Lecturer.

It was stated that the man is a computer science lecturer who will attempt to lecture for 150 hours.

FUOYE Campus Connect tweeted:

"The computer science lecturer at Federal University, Oye-Ekiti is organizing the ACA-A-THON event with the aim of surpassing Guinness World Records for the longest duration of lecturing, which is currently set at 150 hours."

So far, the longest lecture marathon lasted 139 hr 42 min 56 sec. This feat was accomplished by Arvind Mishra (India) at Graphic Era University, in Dehradun, India, from 1 to 7 March 2014.

However, the Nigerian from Ekiti state with intentions of breaking a new record will lecture on the topic 'scientific computation'.

This comes less than 24 hours, Nigerian chef, Hilda Baci received her certificate from the Guinness World Records for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.

Baci cooked for 93 hours, 11 minutes, beating Indian chef, Lata Tandon who is the former Guinness World Record holder for marathon cooking with 87 hours and 45 minutes.

Reacting to the lecturer's attempt, some netizens have taken to social media to share their thoughts.
