Renowned singer Iyanya is in the news as Burna Boy and Davido's 'new cat' controversy continues to circulate on social media.

Recall that Davido claimed in an interview that he and Wizkid were the first artists to break through before Burna Boy, Rema, Fireboy, Asake, and other new cats.

Online debates were generated by Davido's designation of Burna Boy as a new cat, and Iyanya offered his opinion.

Iyanya claims to recolect when his song "Kukere" peaked in popularity years ago and then Burna Boy released "Like To Party" a short time later.

Iyanya said, "After hearing the song, I got scared, so I ran to the studio to drop 'Ur Waist'."
