Toke Makinwa refutes marriage rumors with Umar Farouk

After much conjecture, media personality, Toke Makinwa has responded to reports on her purported marriage to her long-time friend Farouk Umar.

The rumours started when videos of her most recent birthday Thanksgiving service appeared on the internet and featured the couple wearing identical white dresses.

There was an immediate surge of congratulations as many fans and social media users thought the event was a covert wedding.

Toke Makinwa responded by sharing a video of the occasion on social media and denying rumours that it was a wedding, as had been suggested, and instead just a Thanksgiving service to celebrate her birthday.

She wrote, “Thanksgiving service,” putting the rumors to rest.

She had previously said, "Eyes have not seen, ears have not heard what God is about to do" in her life, in reference to a prophecy from years ago.

At the time, Toke voiced doubt about her route, but she can now see it leading to success.

“Today I testify of His goodness… Happy TM Thanksgiving Day… Counting down to my birthday,” she said with mentioning of any engagement or marriage to Umar Farouk.

Toke Makinwa will turn 40 on November 3, 2024.
