Toke Makinwa explains why she tore her prayer requests

Media personality Toke Makinwa has detailed the reason she tore her prayer requests.

Taking to her X account, the media personality stated that she doesn’t see the reason why misfortunes befall good people, why children die and why death always had to be excruciating.

Struggling to understand why there is so much pain in the world, she said there is no reason for her to keep her prayer requests because the people that tragedy often occurs, are not God’s enemies.

She added that she had realized that God owes no one an explanation for what He does hence, it was best not to have any prayer requests and just let the Lord’s will prevail.

Toke Makinwa further urged people not to misquote her words, adding that it is not as if she doesn’t believe in the existence of God, rather, it’s about how people are obsessed with what they want God to do for them and they tend to not live in the moment which could be their last on earth.

The post garnered numerous reactions as netizens shared diverse opinions. Some people commended and agreed with her as they also spoke about how things tend to worsen after so many prayers.

Others criticized the media personality tagging her as an “unbeliever” stating that God did not promise man a life devoid of pain or trouble.
