Toke urged Nigerians to find the strength to move on

Media personality Toke Makinwa has taken to her social media page to react to the president's address to the citizens on Thursday, October 23.

Just like many, Toke complained that the president did not talk about key issues especially as it pertained to what has been happening in the country in the last few weeks.

Noting that the events of the past few weeks might have been difficult for many Nigerians, she urged her fans and followers to remain strong and do what will make them happy.

Read what she said below:

"The last 2 weeks have been a lot for my country Nigeria and I, we’ve been through irreplaceable loss of lives, hopes, dreams have been cut short, businesses ruined and unimaginable pain felt. Last night, the worst address from our commander in chief was one of the hardest things to watch."

"I woke up this morning feeling confused and I decided to remind myself of who I am, what I have been able to create for myself even in a system that’s designed to make me fail, and that spirit that is indestructible. The true Nigerian spirit. Bruised but not broken, crushed but not defeated, I know we all feel lost now, take a day or two off, look at all you’ve survived and try to find that strength to push through."

"Some find it in comedy, whatever works for you, take some time to heal mentally, you deserve it. My non-Nigerian family, pray for all your Nigerian friends in this time, we will come out stronger"
