Toke Makinwa debuts as producer with ‘180 Nigeria’

Toke Makinwa has made her debut as an executive co-producer with the film ‘180 Nigeria.’

Makinwa, who takes on the dual seat of lead act and executive producer, says the strong message of humanity drew her to the movie’s script.

“I was particularly drawn to this script because though it is a feel-good movie that showcases lifestyle, it carries a very strong message of humanity, giving back and truly caring about the people in need. As much as I love acting, I have been thinking about the next step in my career and this movie seemed to be the right opportunity for me to don the hat of an executive producer and have my inputs in the development of this movie,” she says.

In the same vein, the CEO of Pinnaclemena Media Nigeria, Diji Shujahi explained that the storyline appeals to a lot of Nigerian values.

“180 Nigeria is a project we are really honoured to bring to Nigeria as this is a storyline that appeals to a lot of our values and missions as an organisation. We thank Stellar International for being early supporters and funders for the 180 Nigeria movie, they believed in the story and the message and gave us the support we needed to produce it.”

The unveiling of the project dubbed the first international Nigerian female-led movie in recent years to the media at Ogidi Studios in Lagos had top personalities in attendance. The dignitaries include Toke Makinwa; CEO of Pinnaclemena Media Nigeria, Diji Shujahi; Yemisi Falaye of The Temple Management Company; Managing Partner of Oxygen; Princewill Utchay and CEO, Xmedia Communications & 180 Script supervisor, Dr. Tunde Lawrenson.

It was also gathered that the crew of ‘180 Nigeria,’ would be traveling to 10 states in Nigeria, showcasing the various cultures, traditions, nature, and landscapes that Nigeria has to offer to the world.

The movie set to be shot at locations in Nigeria and Dubai is produced by Pinnaclemena Media, Stellar International, Oxygen and Temple Company and will be released early 2024.
