Afrobeats singer, Tiwa Savage was left starstruck as she spoke to Tobi Amusan, the women's 100m hurdles world record holder.

Savage joined multitudes across the globe to congratulate the 25-year-old, who ran a time of 12.12 seconds, shaving almost a tenth of a second off the previous world record in the semi-finals of the World Championships in Oregon.

The 42-year-old songstress noted she was about picking up her phone to make a celebratory post for Nigeria’s first-ever gold winner at the World Athletics Championships before she got a message from Papa Omisore, who is presumed to be a mutual friend.

According to Tiwa, Papa informed her that Amusan had tried severally to reach her.
Tiwa, praying for Amusan, thanked her for making Nigerians especially the women proud with her huge win while pledging one hundred percent support for the athlete.

“Thank you, thank you. God bless you. Any support, anything, I’m with you a 100%. I’m so happy for you,” Tiwa said as she gushed over Tobi.

“I was about to post you. I picked up my phone and I got a message from Papa that you are trying to reach me. I was like, Wow!! I can’t wait to see you!”

Captioning the video, she wrote: “I was literally about to post you and got this message. @ihurdle-33.0 you made every Nigerian especially women so proud and inspired today. God bless you Queen.”
