The touching moment drew a wave of congratulatory messages from fans and fellow celebrities — until Instagram user @ninistrends commented, “Why do I feel it’s artificial and low-key a surrogate, but however tf I’m feeling, congratulations to her.”

The remark didn’t go unnoticed. Actress Toyin Abraham fired back in Yoruba, cursing the commenter for their insensitivity:

“Some of you will suffer from your generation till your last generation. Ègún ò ní kúrò lórí ẹ, àbàshà yámayàma.” she lamented.
