Nigerian singer Jaywon has reacted to the rising insecurity across the country, calling on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to speak up if he is no longer capable of handling the situation.

The singer made the statement in a post shared on his Instagram story, where he criticised those who only recently started speaking about insecurity in Nigeria.

According to Jaywon, the insecurity problem has existed for years, but many people ignored it until it began affecting them directly.

He wrote:

“That post is really for those of you that are quick to come online to question people for not speaking up about the insecurity in the country because you finally found your voice that was silenced since before.”

Jaywon added that the situation has now become worse and accused the present government of failing to tackle the crisis effectively.

“Nigeria need help and it’s obvious the present government also can’t do anything about it anymore.”

The singer then directly called on President Tinubu to address Nigerians if he is no longer capable of handling the country’s security challenges.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu needs to let us know if he’s not capable anymore. This is not funny again.”

His statement has since sparked reactions online, with many Nigerians agreeing with his concerns while others criticised him over the comment.
