Big Brother Naija 'Level Up' winner Ijeoma Josephina Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, has claimed a major sports-entertainment victory after defeating Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday in a highly anticipated celebrity boxing match.
The bout took place on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at the Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos, drawing heavy interest across social media platforms. Following a fierce contest, Phyna emerged victorious, securing the champion belt, a brand-new car, and a N50 million cash prize.
Taking to her Instagram page on October 2 to celebrate the win, the reality TV star highlighted the symbolic timing of the victory, noting that October 2 also marks the anniversary of her 2022 Big Brother Naija win.
"October 2nd will forever be a special date in my life," Phyna wrote. "Today marks the anniversary of the day I won BBN, and now, years later, I'm celebrating another historic victory becoming the first female boxer to step into this ring and win this fight."
Phyna dedicated the triumph to women facing doubts and societal limitations, emphasizing her commitment to pushing boundaries beyond reality television.
"From reality TV to the boxing ring, I've always been willing to challenge myself, break barriers and prove that there is so much more to Phyna than what people see," she stated. "This one is for every woman who has ever been told she couldn't. We can. We will. And we absolutely should."
The match forms part of a growing trend of high-profile, televised exhibition bouts in Lagos, bringing together entertainers, influencers, and reality stars for charity and commercial entertainment spectacles.
