Veteran Nigerian singer Wande Coal has hit back at Afrobeats superstar Davido over recent claims concerning their unreleased collaboration on the 2021 hit single "Come My Way".

The tension follows Davido’s podcast interview where he stated that he rejected Wande Coal's proposal to put out the original track first and save his verse for a remix, ultimately leaving the collaboration unreleased.

Taking to social media, Wande Coal strongly refuted Davido’s narrative, questioning his attempt to control the release strategy of a song that wasn't his.

"Carry song come give you as how? Song wey been get release plan and date!!!

"Song wey no be your own you wan dictate release plan. That song fuckin' did well without you on it bruv!!!" he wrote.

The friction stems from Davido's recent remarks on the Uncut Podcast, where he claimed Wande Coal had brought the song to him to record a feature.

According to Davido, disagreements over whether his verse should feature on the official debut track or be held back as a remix led to the collaboration being shelved.
