Grief and emotion swept through the town of Ilaro, Ogun State, today, August 24, 2026, as legendary Nigerian actor and filmmaker Taiwo Hassan, fondly known as "Ogogo," was laid to rest following his death on Sunday, August 23, at the age of 66.

The veteran star passed away following a brave fight against stage-four cancer. In accordance with Islamic rites, his remains were interred in his hometown less than 24 hours after his passing.

A massive crowd of grief-stricken fans, family members, colleagues, and well-wishers gathered to bid farewell to the Yoruba film icon.

Videos circulating across social media captured emotional moments as his body, wrapped in traditional white burial linen, was escorted by a dense procession to an awaiting ambulance before being conveyed to the burial site.
