Popular singer Timi Dakolo has stated that enduring pain and suffering is not a sign of genuine love.
The singer made this clear in a post on his X page, warning against staying in abusive relationships in the name of patience and commitment.
The father of three stressed that enduring abuse should not be mistaken for patience, noting that destructive behaviour should not be excused as mere character flaws.
Dakolo added that people are not responsible for fixing broken people, noting that even trained therapists sometimes walk away.
He wrote: “Dear anybody, suffering is not proof of love. The amount of abuse you can take is not what patience is all about. It is not your job to fix broken people. Destructive tendencies are not character flaws. Even a trained therapist gives up sometimes.”
