Veteran Nollywood actor Jide Kosoko has urged young Nigerians to show patience and stop acting out in frustration due to hardship and economic conditions in the country.

The film icon made the call during an interview with Channels Television, where he stressed that tolerance remains crucial for maintaining social order and peaceful co-existence.Speaking on the attitude of citizens toward leadership and society, the movie star noted that anger over national issues should not drive individuals into disrespecting others or ignoring their civic duties.

"Tolerance is important. If you are not overlooking the weaknesses of your friend, you cannot be friends for too long. We cannot continue to be friends because there is no way we can have the same behavior. But I try as much as possible to tolerate you. And you tolerate my essences too. The same thing goes to our youth," Jide Kosoko stated.

The actor explained that blaming elders or every citizen in government for current political struggles is misdirected, pointing out that voting choices during elections are based on individual expectations rather than guaranteed outcomes.

"If you look at the situation of the country and how you believe the bad governance has affected you, you will continue to misbehave to everybody. For example, some elders have not been in government, they don't have business going to government, they are just like you, they just feel that they also have civic responsibility to elect or vote for people of their own choice. People they thought can do it right. Who knows who can do it? It is more or less like gambling.

"Even what some people have done is not enough to say they will do it right when they get there. What if they have changed from their usual behavior? So everything is in the hands of Almighty God. You have your choice, I have my choice. Tolerance is important in everything. Stop showing anger because you are hungry," he added.

His comments come amid ongoing public debates surrounding governance, economic difficulties, and the role of young people in driving social reform.
