Fast-rising media personality, Barbara Esinam Bonney has advised popular actor, Yul Edochie against supporting stories concerning the affluent lifestyles of female actresses that may not necessarily be true.

Recall that Yul Edochie in a recent podcast interview stated that the reason why Nigerian female actresses seem to be doing better than their male counterparts is because they make their money from men.

Yul said: "I'll be honest with you, that money no be film money. First of all, I will always give respect to whom respect is due. There are a lot of women who are working to make money, I give them that respect. I have a lot of them as friends, working class women. Look at two of you, you're working not depending on anyone.

"At the same time, we know where some people get their money from. It's easier for women to make money from men. I no dey hide mouth."

Reacting, Barbara opined that to have the belief that asides being paid directly for acting, the only way some actresses make money is by having affairs with men is very myopic.

She said: "Some actresses are able to earn more because they have branded themselves in ways that attract big brands to work with them, in terms of advertising their products and what not.

"On average, I can say female actresses do have a bigger fan base than even their male counterparts, and its easier for advertisers to go to them. So they will definitely make more money. It's not always black and white. There is grey too. Stop adding fire to those negative reports."
