Skiibii addresses criticism over his watch, asserts it was a gift

Nigerian artiste Skiibii has addressed the recent controversy surrounding his wristwatch, which critics have claimed is not an authentic Richard Mille piece.

The singer found himself at the center of social media criticism after @Fakewatchbuster, an Instagram account dedicated to identifying counterfeit watches, highlighted discrepancies in Skiibii's watch.

They posted photos with the caption, "For those inquiring about the RM001, it's confirmed that it isn't a genuine Richard Mille. The differences are quite noticeable even from a distance."

Amidst the unfolding drama, Skiibii's former partner, Ms DSF, joined the online conversation, teasingly commenting "Made in Yaba" with a laughing emoji, following the revelation of the watch's authenticity.

In response to the scrutiny, Skiibii took to social media to defend himself, stating that the watch was a present.

He uploaded a video that captured the moment he received the timepiece, where he can be heard excitedly saying, "My friend just surprised me with a Richard Mille out of the blue. Adel, Hassan, they just handed me a Richard Mille! They took it off and said, 'Here, take it.'"
