On Sunday, July 23, the American branch of the All Progressive Congress (APC) expelled Nigerian singer Kelly Hansome for questioning the status quo.

The singer in a viral video, expressed his discontent with events in their native state of Imo before being led out of the facility.

Hansome revealed on his Instagram page that several political leaders in his state, including Senator Athan Achonuwere, were attempting to stifle freedom of speech in relation to the altercation at the meeting.

When he was asked to leave the meeting, he continued that he was merely attempting to clear the air regarding the unrest in Imo state, which he said was encouraged by the state government, headed by Hope Uzodinma.

Hansome added that it is unacceptable for anyone to work together to destroy his people as he continued to maintain this position.
