Singer Kechi marks 15 years of surviving tragic plane crash with touching words

Nigerian singer and Sosoliso plane crash survivor, Kechi Okwuchi has once again honoured the memory of her classmates and other victims of Sosoliso Flight 1145 which took off from Abuja and crashed in 2005, while heading to Port Harcourt.

Today, December 10, marks 15 years since the tragic Sosoliso plane crash occurred claiming the lives of 107, 60 of which were children and Kechi has shared some powerful words.

In a recent Instagram post, America's Got Talent star reaffirmed her promise to live for her schoolmates that tragically passed away.

She also reflected on the fragility of life and expressed humility at being alive and in good health.

Reasd her message below:

"Today is the 15th anniversary of my accident, the Sosoliso plane crash of 2005. Every year on this day, I rededicate my life to the promise I made, to live for those who passed away that day, especially my school mates, the 60 Angels, and their loved ones they left behind so suddenly. This year, many of us had plans that were derailed, hopes that were crushed... loved ones that were lost."This year, I am harshly reminded that life and death are 2 sides of the same coin, and that it is truly through God’s grace that we are on this side of the coin right now. Today, I am extremely humbled by the simple gift of life and health. As I continue to live for myself, for the angels and for their loved ones, I will also live with the intent to appreciate every new day as it comes and to truly live in the present. In October, the singer marked her 31st birthday. In an Instagram post on Thursday, October 29, the survivor spoke about how 2020 has been a year with ups and downs.

Kechi said that despite everything that she has faced so far, she is very happy to be alive and surrounded by people who love her.

She said that considering how 2020 has been, having a life, good health and love makes her a very lucky person.
