Biafra agitator Simon Ekpa has sent a strong message to Grammy Award-winning artiste Burna Boy regarding his arrest of social media personality Speed Darlington for cyberbullying.
The report of Speed Darlington going missing sparked controversy on social media. It was later revealed by lawyer Deji Adeyanju that the social media personality was arrested by Burna Boy over his remarks involving American rapper P Diddy.
Reacting to the arrest, the self-acclaimed Prime Minister of the Biafra Republic in Exile, Simon Ekpa, tackled Burna Boy over his actions. He questioned why the Afrobeats singer would use the Nigerian police against his fellow Biafrans.
In a series of posts on his social media page, Ekpa demanded the release of Speed Darlington within 48 hours, or he would face his wrath.
“So, Burna Boy is now a government of his own that can kidnap a Biafran with his team? Whoever knows Burna Boy should tell him that after 48 hours and Speed Darlington is not freed, we will humble him. Make sure this message goes to him and his kidnapping gangs. 48 hours start from now. This impunity will end with Biafra,” he said.
Ekpa shared a video of Speed Darlington’s mother appealing to Burna Boy to release her son after he arrived at his house with his team to pick him up.
“The intimidation Biafrans go through under Nigeria will come to an end soon. People like Burna Boy will be under Nigeria and enjoying the impunity of the system, kidnapping and molesting innocent people for speaking out. If you so much love Nigeria, why will you go and kidnap him with your men? The terrorist state will terrorise Biafrans and you Burna Boy will also terrorise a Biafran? After the 48 hours and this boy is not released, you will become an enemy. If you are kidnapped today by anyone, we will do the same.”
Hours after the news of Speed Darlington’s release on bail from police custody, Ekpa noted that such actions would not be condoned going forward.
Taking to his X page, he wrote, “If you have released him within the 48 hours, we move. We are all brothers but stop using Nigeria terrorist @PoliceNG or @HQNigerianArmy against fellow Biafran. We will not condone it going forward.”
