By Ekaete BasseySinger Deborah Oluwaseyi Joshua, popularly known as Seyi Shay has dropped a new single “Pempe” which features self-acclaimed Mama Africa, Yemi Alade.

This new sound is coming after a long break from the Afro-beat sensation as the last she released was a remix and visuals for “Gimme Love” which featured American R&B artist, Teyena Taylor, in 2019.

Same song had Runtown for the initial version.

The 2 minutes 55 seconds sound, which sees collaboration with Yemi Alade, highlights the struggles that come with being a hot lady from unending attention to everything else in between.

It issues a stern warning to the opposite gender who presumably have nothing to offer but desire an affiliation with independent ladies.

Seyi Shay addressed all the trollings and bashing she has received and the many ill talks about her person.

Sometime in March, Seyi Shay received backlash from Nigerians for her unsettling criticism of a 17-year-old contestant as one of the judges for the 6th edition of the Nigerian Idol audition.

Social media users argued Seyi Shay crushed the contestant’s self-confidence and psyche when she said the young contestant’s performance was so terrible adding that he would never make money from singing.

Same month, the singer revealed in a chat with Hip Tv her plans to take up more acting roles aside doing music.

However, in April, the singer was reported to have gushed about her feelings for guitarist and singer Faith Jason, who got the last of the 65 gold tickets to qualify for the next round of the music and talent hunt reality TV show, Nigerian Idol.
