Former Kano State's Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Muazu Magaji, has been diagnosed with the deadly coronavirus.

Magaji was relieved of his duties as the state's commissioner on April 18 for making unguarded utterances against the person of ex-Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari who died as a result of coronavirus.

In a Facebook post on Thursday, Magaji said, "Dear all, I do truly apologize to you not getting across to me on phone or messages. I have been indisposed due to ongoing health challenges some of us going through in Kano. In Sha Allah, it will be well.

"This morning my NCDC test is out. I have been confirmed COVID-19 positive and have been moved to one of the state facilities... pray for us."[Sahara Reporters]

Recall the Magaji denied mocking Kyari's after his demise claiming that his narrative was twisted "with explanation completely out of context and lacing it with religious and cultural connotations that made it necessary for my principal(Governor Ganduje) to show leadership and solidarity with the dead by relieving me of my position."

He said, "As a Muslim and a patriotic Nigerian, I was only misunderstood by people to think that I celebrated Kyari’s death, the truth is I did not.

"The use of “win-win phrase” is basically an attempt to explain the Islamic Promise on the people that died as a result of any kind of pandemic."
