Veteran actor, Kanayo O. Kanayo has condemned Reno Omokri for calling out Peter Obi over the ailment of John Okafor popularly known as Mr Ibu.

Earlier Reno Omokri, a former Presidential aide, took to his X page to knock Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party who he claims has failed to acknowledge Mr Ibu despite bragging about his wealth.

He wrote; "I Am Richer Than President Biden Who Has Only $8.9 Million-@PeterObi
Okay, help Mr. Ibu!"

Some critics also took to social media to call out top actors for failing to help Mr Ibu who announced that he is currently suffering from an illness and is in need of financial assistance to prevent the amputation of one of his legs.

Reacting to the backlashes, Kanayo rebuked the critics. He called out Reno Omokri and Uche Maduagwu for their rants on social media as he accused them of using Mr Ibu's illness to seek attention.

According to him, some prefer to give privately and should not deem it important and beneficial only when it is announced.

Kanayo said;

"I condemn in strict terms Reno Omokri who is calling Peter Obi's name. It is not a friendly thing. It is wicked. And the other guy, Uche Maduagwu who talks about top actors. Shame on top actors, shame on you too. You don't have any value and level to call our names. It is an individual thing to do to support a colleague. It becomes a collective as actors guild of Nigeria who are doing their best. Don't forget some people learn to give personally, privately, not their names to be mentioned. We will as individuals support our colleague. We will as a guild support our colleague... We complement your effort in giving but nobody should use it as a platform to castigate and impugn or indict those who have not given. it is wrong and we don't support it."

He also commended actor, William Uchemba for building houses for distressed Nigerians without indicting the federal government.

"This is a warning. If you want to give, give. We as individuals and top actors give at our own levels. It is not only important and beneficial only when we announce it. so, don't use our colleague's name, John Okafor Ibu to trend just because you want a name.

Reno Omokri if you want to command the national issues be fair to yourself. Stop seeking attention. And for those of you who are seeking attention over peoples illness, it is not again a good thing to do."

Kanayo concluded by wishing Mr Ibu a speedy recovery.
