Rema's 'HEIS' album hits 12.3 million streams on Spotify

Reports indicate that singer, Divine Ikubor, also known as Rema, has achieved a significant milestone in his career with his latest album ‘HEIS’ becoming the most streamed in its first-week on Spotify Nigeria.

According to Turntable Charts on Thursday, July 18, 2024, the album garnered 12.3 million streams in its first debut week.

It was reported that ‘HEIS’ surpassed Olamide’s ‘Ikigai’ which garnered 7.92 million streams in its first week.

“Rema’s ‘HEIS’ achieved 12.3 million streams on Spotify Nigeria in its first week of release.

“As a result, it sets a new record for the biggest first-week streams for an album on Spotify Nigeria in 2024,” the post stated.

While ‘Heis’ holds the title for the biggest opening week in 2024, it does not hold the all-time record.

The record for the biggest opening week for any album in Spotify Nigeria’s history belongs to Davido’s 2023 hit ‘Timeless’ with 14.4 million streams.

“‘HEIS’ recorded 12.3 million streams on Spotify Nigeria on its first week of release.

“It becomes the second biggest first week streams for any album on Spotify Nigeria history — behind only @davido’s ‘Timeless’ (14.4M),” the post added.

Rema’s ‘HEIS’, an 11-track album was released on July 11, 2024, two years after his debut album ‘Raves & Roses’.
