Rema’s Benin fan defends singer, explains history behind 'demonic' mask

A Beninese fan of Afrobeats singer Rema has backed the singer's contentious 'demonic' mask that he wore at his 02 Arena performance.

The budding star shut down the esteemed venue and made waves during his performance with some unusual graphics.

Following the incident, some internet users connected Rema to the Illuminati hidden society because of the peculiar movements on stage.

One of Rema's most talked-about acts was the mask he wore, which had a demonic appearance, as he made a dramatic entrance atop a sculptured horse.

Online users in Rema's native Benin have defended him on social media despite the numerous accusations that he is involved in a demonic activity.

The Benin natives added that Queen Idia, a hero in the Benin Kingdom, served as the model for the mask Rema wore on the show.

An X user wrote: “Queen Idia Mask/REMA isn’t demonic; as a matter of fact, she is a national hero to Nigeria and the Benin Kingdom. She lived in the 15th century. She was the first Edo woman to go to war. She defeated a giant for a son to become king She was the first queen mother in Benin.”
