Social media users have reacted strongly after Nigerian socialite and nightlife entrepreneur Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, openly declared support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general election.

The backlash followed a viral video showing Cubana Chief Priest alongside businessman Obi Cubana during a visit by the South East City Boy Movement to Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma.

Many Nigerians accused the celebrity barman of inconsistency, with social media commentator Vincent Martins Otse, aka VeryDarkMan, leading the criticism.

He described Cubana Chief Priest as hypocritical, recalling his earlier stance that the South East would never support President Bola Tinubu in 2027 as long as IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, remained in detention.

VeryDarkMan pointed out that despite Kanu still being in custody, Cubana Chief Priest is now claiming he can mobilise and deliver the South East region for Tinubu in the next election.

Several other social media users echoed similar sentiments, questioning the credibility of the socialite’s political stance and motives.
