Suspended Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele on Tuesday, appeared at the federal high court in Ikoyi, Lagos, after he was charged on two counts of illegal possession of firearm and ammunition.

Emefiele was arraigned before the judge, Justice Nicholas Oweibo, after over six weeks since his arrest and detention by the Department of State Services (DSS).

The former CBN Governor pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against him by the Federal Government.

The high court proceeded to grant Emefiele bail in the sum of N20 million with one surety.

Upon his arrival at the court in a Hilux vehicle, Emefiele was spotted wearing a white jalamia with long-sleeve and holding a KJV Bible.

Jalabiya is a traditional thobe for Arabian men although it has become a trendy fashion worn by almost everybody.

Emefiele's appearance stunned many who took to social media to share their thoughts on his outfit.

@Nwabulibu: How Emefiele managed to wear jalabiya & holding a Bible at the same time is like two-factor authentication.

@Cutt_Eno: Abeg where him dey go with bible

@Dannitrillions: He is being persecuted for only him and himself knows.... Because this has nothing to do with JESUS CHRIST...well he might just be casting all his cares and burden...

@MrBanRichy: He want to swear with his own bible, court own no dey work

@50_50cal: When trouble comes that’s when you know God as savior

@Spotlight_Abby: Can someone tell me why Godwin Emefiele arrived the court clutching a Bible?
Quite an irony that the Central Bank Governor who blocked the accounts of protesters, is also being dragged through a (likely futile) court process around the same time some EndSARS victims surfaced.
