Rape must not be normalised- Femi Gbajabiamila

Speaker of Nigeria’s House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila has lent his voice to issues of rape persistently reoccurring in the society.

Taking to Twitter, Gbajabiamila said issues of rape must be addressed so they do not become the new normal.

He asked security agents to be diligent in apprehending suspects accused of these crimes.

"We must address the rising cases of rape and sexual offences decisively as a country. This must not be the new normal. Security agencies must ensure the culprits do not go unpunished to serve as a deterrent. Beyond rhetorics, we must do better." the lawmaker tweeted.
