US-based Nollywood actor Prince Eke has ranted vehemently after a disappointing experience with a Nigerian telecommunication company.

In an Instagram post, Eke claimed that Airtel had sold his cellphone number to a different client after he paid N80k for a sim card with a unique number in 2014.

Eke stated that the number is connected to his bank account and that he verified it in August 2022 when he was in Nigeria.

According to the actor, a Chinese man is currently using the number, and has withdrawn all of the money in his bank account.

The actor's post saw many social media users sympathizing with him. Some advised him on what to do as others shared their bad experiences with telcos.

0avatar012: "@realprinceeke Did you stop using this number ? If no, This is case of SIM SWAP. 3 things could be done. 1. Get a lawyer sue Airtel for carrying out illegal SIM SWAP. 2. Write a petition to EFCC to investigate this act of Cybercrime. Get a Lawyer to sue your Bank (however this depends on how the crime was committed)"
