President Buhari orders total lockdown of Kano

Effective immediately, Kano State will be lockdown totally for a period of two weeks, according to the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (Retd.).

The President made the announcement on Monday night during the nationwide COVID-19 public address at the Aso-Rock, Abuja.

While Lagos, Abuja and Ogun would be on lockdown for an additional week, the relation which will begin on May 4th with an 8pm to 6am nationwide curfew will not be bounding on Kano State.

This will be as a result of the sudden rise of “mysterious” deaths lately, coupled with the over 70 cases of coronavirus already recorded.

He said, “With regards to Kano, I have directed the enforcement of a total lockdown for a period of two weeks effective immediately.

“The Federal Government shall deploy all the necessary human, material and technical resources to support the state in controlling and containing the pandemic and preventing the risk of further spread to neighbouring states.”
