Portable likely to spend three years in jail if found guilty of charges

Controversial Nigerian artiste, Portable could be behind bars for three years if found guilty of the six counts of multiple assault charges against him.

The "Zazoo Zehh" crooner appeared in court today, April 3, 2023 to begin trial for the charges levelled against him.

Two of the six charges are; injuring a police man and beating up a guy in Otta, among other pending cases of assaults on people and attacks.

A look at Nigeria's constitution indicates that a person who attacks or assaults a law enforcement agent has committed a serious offence known as a felony punishable with at least three years jail term.

Portable has currently been granted bail of N300,000 with two sureties from his immediate family and will reappear in court on April 26, 2023.
