Police deny detaining Seyitan, D'banj's rape accuser

The Nigerian Police Force has denied detaining Seyitan Babatayo, singer D'banj's rape accuser.

Recall that Seyitan had claimed to have been detained alongside criminals when she went to file a complaint against D'banj.

She had accused the so get of raping her inside a hotel room a few years ago.

A police source who spoke to Vanguard said that Seyitan was only invited to give her written statement on the allegation against D'banj.

The source also said that there might have been a mix up by her legal team on what happened on the day.

He revealed that both D'banj and Seyitan were invited to give their written statement at the Force Criminal Investigations Department, Abuja.

After three attempts to have Seyitan come down to the FCID failed, a team of officers was dispatched to bring her down.
