Ekiti State philanthropist and Royal Air Force officer, David Opeyemi Falegan has called on President Bola Tinubu to increase the wages of military personnel by 400 percent.

He stated that in support of the Renew Hope Initiative, the military who are tasked with protecting the country from internal and external forces, are being paid meager salaries.

He claims that these salaries are unable to cater for themselves and their families. In a bid to ensure that the military who are sent to the forests to fight insurgents, Falegan appeals for an increase in wages.

He wrote, “RAF officer Opeyemi David Falegan (ODF) appeals to the President to increase Nigerian military wages by 400 percent, Our Nigerian flag does not fly because the wind moves it. It flies with the last breath of each soldier who died protecting it.”

Falegan’s post has generated reactions from Nigerians on social media.
