Nollywood producer Stanley Ontop has expressed outrage after a disturbing video surfaced showing popular crossdresser Emeka Nwosisi being violently beaten in public.
According to Ontop, the incident occurred at Seaside Estate in Ajah, Lagos State, where Emeka was attacked by a man wielding a long stick, striking him multiple times as bystanders watched.
The filmmaker, who has been outspoken about social issues in the past, called for urgent intervention and appealed for a rescue team to take Emeka to a hospital for immediate treatment.
In a follow-up post, Ontop revealed that Emeka had been struggling with mental health challenges, a fact that many people were unaware of. He further disclosed that the assault was carried out by an area boy (agbero) and that Emeka is currently fighting for his life.
The distressing video shows Emeka screaming in pain after being hit repeatedly, while a woman filming the scene can be heard shouting, “They want to kill him!”
Reacting to the footage, many fans condemned the violence and criticised the woman behind the camera for recording instead of helping.
They decried the growing lack of empathy in society and urged law enforcement agencies to take swift action against those responsible.
Some also drew parallels to the tragic case of the late Abuja Area Mama, who had previously spoken about being assaulted before her death in an Abuja market.
