Nollywood actors are known for their versatility and ability to excel in other parts of the entertainment industry.

Despite their incredible talent in movies, almost all of them who venture into music have been unsuccessful.

While the industry has yet to see anyone who has successfully made the transition below are the names of actors and actresses who have made an attempt and failed.

1. Tonto Dikeh

Popular actress, Tonto Dikeh attempted music in 2013 when she released her debut album "Sugar Rush" which featured hit tracks like "Hi" and "Itz Ova".

The album was met with mixed reactions from fans.

The actress has previously appeared with Patience Ozokwor in a music video for Amaco Investments.

She was signed to D'banj's record label, DB Records on June 13, 2014. In March 2015, Tonto Dikeh announced her intention to leave DB Records.



2. Mr Ibu

The late John Okafor, popularly known as Mr. Ibu was a veteran act who was known for playing humorous roles.

In 2017, he attempted a career in music in addition to acting with the belief he could be successful at it.

His album "Mr. Ibu in Parliament" included songs that demonstrated both his musical prowess and comic approach. It was, however, regarded as a flop.

Mr. Ibu returned to acting where he had a prosperous career until his demise.



3. Patience Ozokwor

Patience Ozokwor, popularly known as Mama G is a legendary Nollywood actress known for her iconic roles in movies.

In addition to her acting career, Patience Ozokwor ventured into music, releasing gospel and secular songs that were well-received by fans.

Her music showcased her powerful vocals and lyrics.

She featured Tonto Dikeh and Charles Awurum in some of her songs such as "Make We Jolly" and "National Moi Moi".

Just like the others, her career was brought to a halt and she returned to music.



4. Genevieve Nnaji

Genevieve Nnaji is one of the most popular and talented actresses in Nollywood. While she is primarily known for her acting prowess, Genevieve Nnaji attempted to make music.

Genevieve released a single titled "No More" in 2005, which received positive feedback from fans and critics alike.



5. Omotola Jalade Ekeinde

Omotola Jalade Ekeinde is another Nollywood actress who ventured into music. She released her debut album "Gba" in 2005, which featured tracks that showcased her sultry vocals and musical talent.

Omotola's music career was well-received by fans, adding another dimension to her already impressive resume.



6. Jim Iyke

Jim Iyke is a popular Nollywood actor known for his versatile acting skills and charismatic on-screen presence.

While Jim Iyke has primarily focused on his acting career, he has also dabbled in music, showcasing his talent differently.

In 2009, Jim Iyke released a single titled "Who Am I," which featured him showcasing his rap skills and lyrical prowess. The song received mixed reactions with some fans praising his efforts while others criticized his transition into music.



7. Nkem Owoh

Renowned Nollywood actor Nkem Owoh, widely known as Osuofia is renowned for his humorous performances and exuberant on-screen presence. Nkem Owoh is a successful actor who has also dabbled in music, demonstrating his versatility in another artistic medium.

In 2007, Nkem Owoh released the smash song "I Go Chop Your Dollar" from his album of the same name. With its catchy lyrics and lighthearted undertones, the song went viral and generated controversy due to its sensitive subject matter.

"Agreement," "My People," "The Master," and "Obara'm" are among some songs that Nkem Owoh released.
