Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck has disclosed that during his undergraduate studies, he was an illicit drug user.
The fast-rising singer revealed to his audience during a recent performance in Houston, Texas, USA, that he had abused crack cocaine before quitting.
Odumodublvck claimed that his drug usage taught him the value of dedication.
However, he emphasized that abusing drugs can harm one's health.
Odumodublvck said, “I used to take crack cocaine when I was in Unilag in 2014. It is not good for your life. But while I was smoking it one day, I learnt a lesson. The lesson is: How bad do you want it?
“And I’m talking to each and every one of you here, whatever you are doing in your life, how bad do you want it? Do you want to be the biggest blogger? Do you want to be the biggest artist? Do you want to be the biggest businesswoman? How bad do you want it?”
Drug abuse among Nigerian celebrities has been a growing concern in recent years. Many celebrities, including musicians, actors, and social media influencers, have been involved in drug-related controversies.
Recall that singer Timaya narrated how drug addiction nearly destroyed his life in 2023. He disclosed that in 2020, during the COVID-19 lockdown, he was first exposed to drugs.
Timaya called his struggle with drugs a "tough fight," pointing out that they frequently produce delusions. He said that after losing money, contracts, and weight, he came to his senses and decided to fight drug use.
