Not seeing Davido won’t discourage me - Fan who cycled from Benue

Emmanuel Myam, aka Emmiwuks, a fan of popular singer, David Adeleke, aka Davido, has said he will not be discouraged if he eventually does not meet the singer after riding a bicycle for 15 days from Benue State to Lagos to see him.

He eventually arrived Lagos on Friday, August 18, 2023, and was hosted by the Tiv community in the state.

While on the trip, Davido had told the young man to turn back, saying he was not around at the moment. He then asked the fan to send his account number.

However, Emmiwuks refused to turn back, and in an interview with Sunday Scoop, he stated that he would not be disappointed if he eventually did not meet Davido. Contrary to what many expected, he also stated that he did not send his account number to the Unavailable singer.

He said, “I will not be discouraged if I don’t eventually meet Davido. I will take it that is the way God planned it to happen. I will take it with faith.”

Asked why he loved Davido so much, he said, “I just like him. He is doing well in the music industry, and he has been helpful to the youth. I also like other artistes such as Olamide, Don Jazzy and Wizkid; but I feel specially about Davido. He is more like an angel on earth.”

Speaking on some of the challenges he faced during the trip, Emmiwuks said, “One of the challenges I faced was sharing the road with trucks on the highway. The drivers of those trucks did not take it easy with me. Some even pushed me off the road while trying to overtake them. There was also a day my bicycle had a fault.”

He noted that on a number of occasions, he had to sleep at filling stations. He however added that at times, he met fans of the singer who paid for his accommodation.
