Nollywood actors who passed away in January

Shortly after entering the new year 2021, the entertainment industry has been thrown into a state of mourning as several Nollywood actors and actress passed away barely a month.

The painful exit of these veterans left only memories of their amazing roles in movies.

Jim Lawson Maduike

Famous Nollywood actor died on January 9, 2021, after reportedly complaining of body pains around 12 pm.

Maduike was a broadcaster, writer and voice-over artist, filmmaker and television personality.

The Nollywood veteran began his movie career in 2004, starring many movies.



Folake Aremu aka Orisabunmi

Popular Yoruba actress, Orisabunmi passed away at the age of 60 years at her residence. She reportedly died shortly after an illness.

A native of Kwara state, the veteran was said to have died four months after her ex-husband, Jimoh Aliu popularly known as Aworo.

Orisabunmi was known to play the roles of a priestess, witch, pacifist among others.



Dan Koloagu

Veteran Nollywood actor, Dan Nkoloagu on Friday, January 22, 2021, died after suffering some health complications.

The 84-year-old actor was reported to have been battling with arthritis, some prostrate issues among others.

Popularly known for his role as an herbalist in films, his son, Nkoloagu Jr said his father never believed in voodoo or juju.



Ernest Asuzu

Veteran actor, Ernest Asuzu has been reported dead. According to reports, he collapsed and died on Tuesday, January 26, 2021.

He is popularly known for his bad-boy role in movies.
