Singer Peter Okoye popularly known as Mr P, has asked fans to stop comparing him with his twin brother Paul Okoye, known as Rudeboy, or any other musician.
In a recent video broadcast, the former P-Square member said he wants to focus on his solo career without distractions.
He stressed that he is unique and asked fans to let him be himself, stressing that he wants to do his own thing and succeed on his own terms.
“Stop comparing me with my brother or anyone else. Enough of the comparisons. I want to do me. There is no one like me. I want to do my thing and chop my money,” he said.
Mr P also claimed that his brief reunion with Rudeboy affected his solo career momentum.
Speaking in an interview with Cool FM Lagos, he said he used to gain 100,000 Instagram followers daily before the reunion.
He added that after Davido, he and Don Jazzy were the biggest African celebrities on social media at the time, but the reunion caused his growth to drop.
“Before the reunion, I used to gain 100,000 followers every day. After Davido, it was Don Jazzy and me who were the biggest African celebrities on social media. But after the reunion, everything just dropped,” he said.
The singer added that his longevity in music, spanning nearly 30 years, warrants more accolades than he currently receives.
“I have been in the game for nearly 30 years, and I am still trending to date. I deserve more respect,” he added.
