Nigerians react as Luxury detective page calls out AY Makun for flaunting fake Hermes bag

Comedian AY Makun has come under scrutiny after a luxury detective page on Instagram accused him of flaunting a fake Hermès bag.

In February, AY Makun shared a photo of himself rocking a Hermès designer bag on his Instagram page.

T20Luxury, a popular luxury page that shares products and prices of designer wear from different brands, called AY out for flaunting a fake Hermès bag.

Sharing AY’s photo alongside the original Hermès bag, the page advised the comedian to desist from supporting brands that produce counterfeit products.

The page wrote, “Dear AY, as a key stakeholder in the entertainment industry and a beneficiary of genuine creativity, it’s more honorable to refrain from supporting the counterfeit fashion industry. Upholding authenticity is important to preserving our reputation as leaders within the Black community.”
