Popular Nigerian skit maker and livestreamer Carter Efe has sparked reactions following his first trip to the United Kingdom, declaring that Nigeria remains decades behind the developed world.
Broadcasting to thousands of fans during a recent livestream, the popular content creator held nothing back as he marvelled at the country's advanced infrastructure and standard of living—contrasting it sharply with his life back home.
Carter Efe claimed that the sights he encountered on British streets were things he had previously only witnessed on television screens, accusing Nigerian leadership of leaving its citizens in crude, underdeveloped conditions.
“For those of you who have never travelled, UK is a better place. Nigeria is still in 1996, they’re using us in Nigeria, no good infrastructures. We are just living anyhow in Nigeria. I was just full of joy when I got into the UK. The things I saw in the UK, I only used to see them on TV," he asserted.
The streamer also dedicated a portion of his viral rant to Afrobeats superstar Davido, publicly thanking him for facilitating the opportunity to travel abroad.
"Thanks to God and Davido. If not for Davido, I am not sure I would have gotten the chance to go overseas in my life," he added.
