An old video of popular Nigerian clergyman, Prophet Odumeje, declaring that Nigeria is better than America has resurfaced online, sparking fresh debate.

In the clip, Prophet Odumeje is seen addressing his congregation, where he recounts his visit to the United States of America.

According to him, unlike in Nigeria, people in the U.S. are too engrossed in their personal lives to extend a helping hand.

“I’ve been to that trending America. There’s no country better than our own country. There’s no place like our country if we can build it. Imagine me going to America and requesting that I be taken back home. In Nigeria, you come out and greet your neighbours. In America, everybody passes you with no concern…” he said.

The resurfaced sermon has since stirred reactions from netizens, with some supporting his stance while others disagreeing with his comparison.
