'Nigeria is a spoiled child' — Patience Ozokwor backs Peter Obi for 2027

Nollywood veteran actress Patience Ozokwor has publicly declared her support for Peter Obi ahead of the 2027 general elections, describing Nigeria as a country blessed with abundant resources but one that has failed to make the most of them.

According to a report by thedailypost.ng, Ozokwor, popularly known as Mama G, spoke at a gathering organised under the banner "Celebrities for Peter Obi," where she laid out her concerns about the state of the country and why she believes Nigerians need change.

"I see this country as a spoiled child," she said. "There is nothing God did not provide for us. Other nations of the world, if they have one quarter of what God has given to us, they will be better than what they are today," she added.

The actress also took aim at the concentration of wealth among a section of Nigerians, pointing out that some individuals have accumulated more than enough to sustain generations, while many others continue to struggle.

"Some people in this country have laid up for themselves for their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren," she said.

Ozokwo further urged fellow celebrities at the gathering to recognise the influence they carry through their public image and credibility.

"Celebrities here, what we have, we have our faces. We have our integrity," she said.
