Director-General of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, Chikwe Ihekweazu has promised to release the national policy on face masks tomorrow.

The NCDC boss made this disclosure in a press briefing by the presidential task force set up to manage the pandemic in the country.

Ihekweazu said the policy was ready, only that it was being reviewed by health professionals.

He said, "Policy on face masks is almost being completed and will be released tomorrow."

The DG also revealed that 30% of the COVID-19 cases have been found through contact tracing. He also added that several volunteers have been engaged to help speed up the work.

"Till date, 30% of our cases have been found through contact tracing. We use an electronic platform to trace our contact and continue the chain of transmission. We have engaged a lot of volunteers to help us with this work. People working have been withdrawn and enlisted to support this procedure. The Local Government has been helpful in contact tracing," the NCDC DG said.
